I had stage IIIc endometriod adenocarcinoma, diagnosed in November 2002. Treatments in 2003 included 28 days of radiation, plus a boost, followed by 6 rounds of chemotherapy with paclitaxol, cisplatin, and doxyrubicin.
I still have the chemo taste in my mouth, which the doctor said is probably permanent. The peripheral neuropathy is still there, but I am used to it. What bothers me is that I still get every cold that comes anywhere near me. How long does the immune system take to recover from the treatments? I already had allergies and asthma, so I was prone to colds already, but not like this. I feel like I am sick more days than I am well. Is this still because of the chemo? I should not complain - I am alive and I work part-time, but I am frustrated that I still have weak days and tired days and catch everything that comes down the pike. Any advice? Thank you, all of you, just for being here. I wish I had found this forum sooner!
