Intercourse after colposcopy

I had a colposcopy Thursday and had the normal dark discharge a day or two later. After it subsided I had intercourse Sunday night. My doctore said to just wait a couple days after the colposcopy, which I waited 4. I didn't have any pain or bleeding after. But I have noticed the next day a lot of clear discharge. I did start a new brand of birth control this month and half way through my last week of active pulls. Could the discharge be from having intercourse too soon after or possibly a side effect of the birth control and my coming period?

Re: Intercourse after colposcopy

Its more than likely from the birth control. The only thing that having sex would cause is pain and discomfort and slight irritation which would fade away with time. When your body is introduced to new hormones, it'll react to it. Especially if you have an period coming within the next week or so, your body will clean itself in preparation for your period. However, if you're really curious ... i'd call your Gynecologist.
