Is this possibly cancer? - Cancer: Colon Message Board

HI, I am a bit concerned. Over the last few years I have alternated between loose, normal, and hard stools. Also, no matter what the consistency sometimes I feel a sharp stinging on the rectum followed by bright red blood on the stool and toilet paper. Afterwards, It itches and feels like I have something in my rectum. Could this possibly be cancer? or Hemmoroids? I am scared to death of doctors and invasive procedures. Colon cancer doen not run in my family, I am 22. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

it sounds like hemmeroids to me, defintely get it checked out to put your mind at ease.

Hemmoroids. No family history, very young age, on and off symptoms over years. Eat right, drink plenty of fluids, go easy on alcohol and take a walk twice a week. If you aren't concerned enough to overcome your fear and ask about a colonoscopy you are probably OK.

Prep H supositories work best. Get really concerned if you are getting blood but Preparation H has no effect and the blood is always there each bowel movement.
