Bloody Stool??? - Cancer: Colon Message Board

Not sure if this is considered blood in stool, just today when i stooled, i think i saw some blood. The best way i can describe it, is lets say my stool was a piece of meat. usually when you cut into a meat that hasn't been cooked enough, it shows some red on the side? thats how mine was like. i know that was digusting and i am sorry for that, but it was the best way i can describe it.... Would this be considered blood in the stool? i don't have any insurance and i heard getting screened for colon cancer is extremely expensive!

If it keeps up, you need to go to the doctor. It may just be hemroids and he will be able to tell. My cancer started with blood in the bowel, but it was like every day. I caught it early and am now cancer free. Tell them you do not have insurance. There are social workers who may be able to help you.

smiley, thx for the reply... could you tell me how aggressive is colon cancer? is it a very fast developing disease or slow? im 28 years old.

Actually I think it grows slowly, but you need to catch it early before it gets into the lymph nodes. It can then spread to other areas and the treatment will be far worse. I had an early cancer and still had to do radiation and chemo before my surgery to remove it and 3 cycles of chemo after. Pretty much treatment for a small cancer. They don't fool around with it, they get rid of it. I also had a good portion of my top rectum and some colon removed.
