When the cancer spreads...

Hi, I am new here, but have had my run ins with colon problems as well. My question isn't regarding me, but my brother in law. He has colon cancer and had surgery in Aug. 05 to have part of his colon removed by emergency surgery for blockage from a tumor. He went thru chemotherapy and was being monitored when a spot appeared on a CT. It is now in his lymphnodes, but only one that they can see at the moment. My question is how many of you guys might have had it reoccur and was even in the lymphnodes? How and what did they do for you in order to help you battle this? I am very concerned for him now that it has moved to such an extreme part of the body and has access to spread. Any thoughts are appreciated as we are worried.

Thanks,
Angelia

Re: When the cancer spreads...

Hi Angelia,

My dh was diagnoised with stage iv/mets to the liver 7/04 so I can't help you with the question about the lympnodes. I am sure that there are others who will answer your question about that.

I would think that they will probably start him on more chemo. Just be as supportive and positive as you can be and help him keep a positive attitude. Sorry that I can be of more help, but I will keep your brother in law in my prayers. dee
