I am new here and very scared right now. For the last few months I have been having blood in my stool off and on...not a everyday thing. When this happens I get severe stomach pains. I also have been nauseas beyond belief for a long time.
I go to a dr. on Friday to see if I have Fibromyalgia(sp) as I have been so tired and weak. I have twin toddler boys at home and all I can do is lay on the couch.
Besides my stomach hurting and the nausea I have a lot of gas and my legs hurt really really bad. It almost feels like growing pains.
I did a ****** search and read that your stools can be narrow and mine are...not to be gross!! Also I read that even if there is no visible blood there can be just not visible to the naked eye..well mine doesnot look like it is black like old blood would be.
So my question is...do I have the symptoms of colon cancer? I go in on monday for the testings. Also...if any of you can relate to my symptoms Please let me know.

The symptoms you are having may well be due to a number of conditions which flare up in the bowel, eg diverticulosis, colitis, Crohns Disease, all of which are very uncomfortable and unpleasant. Good that you are having it all looked at. If you are losing blood thru the bowel, you may be getting anaemic, that will make you tired. Good luck at the doctor's, tell us how you get on. Thanks! I am looking forward to my appt. and getting ot the bottom of this. My grandma on my dads side died of colon cancer along with other forms of cancer. I forgot to ask...do you have to have blood in every stool you have or can it be here and there? I have it like once or twice a week.
I just cannot deal with the bowel changes, the headaches, and the tiredness with leg pains. I am 26 and feel as though I am 46!!!!
Blood in the stools does not necessarily mean colon cancer. My husband has had bleeding on and off for 30 years, I never had any - I was the one that ended up with colon cancer. So try to stay calm while you undergo the diagnostic testing which will hopefully find a reason behind your symptoms.
I go in tom. (Monday) for my first work up. I am so nervous though for the rectal exam...YUCK! I have noticed that my bowels are like strings...very narrow and there is blood in it. I get cramps and I am so tired and nauseas all the time. I have been going to the drs. for a few yers now for these symptoms minus the bloody stool.
