Re: what to expect in final stages of stage 4 colon cancer
I was told by one person who had active colon cancer, which had spread to another part of his body, that his CEA remained within normal range. It did not go up at all.
Others have said their CEA can go up to 4 and there has been no sign of cancer (this is for a non-smoker).
For a smoker 5 and under is considered within normal range.
My last CEA was 2.8 and I'm getting a PET scan on Nov.4th.
The lowest my CEA ever was at 1.3 about a month after I had completed chemo. It has steadily climed up to 2.8, which is more than double. That is the scary part.
What is you CEA?
