Blood, not in stool- colonoscopy clean
Hi All, I am new to this board and was very happy to find it. I am extremely worried about my husband who has had blood in his stool on and off for the past 4 years. Sometimes it is just a small amount when he wipes (probably from the occassional hemorrhoids that he gets), but other times it is large amounts of blood passing by itself, making the entire toilet red (sorry for the graphic description).
My husband is 39, so I told him he needed to get a colonoscopy which he did 6 months ago and it came back completely clean. In fact the doctor said his colon was "in really good shape!"
So where could this massive amount of blood be coming from. Also, it is important to note that his bowel movements (even when there is no blood) are "explosive," like he has eaten 2 bowls of beans, and almost always painful. It sounds like it must be some sort of intestinal problem?
Any advice or people who have had experiences like this, please fill me in on what you have found out.
I just think that when a large amount of blood is filling up a toilet, it can't be something good.
