I have recentlynoticed that when I go #2 that there is a lump about the size of a marble on one side of the hole that protrudes out when I go, I looked at it in a mirror and it is the same color as all the other tissue in the area and is not seperated from the tissue. It doesnot hurt and just goes back to normal when I stand up and am done going. Iknow this sounds gross but does it sound like anything in particular? Somebody please answer, I am freaking out.
Re: Tried this question on another board, please help.
Is the bulging out accompanied by any bleeding? You should consult your MD. There are causes other than cancer that could produce a lump that bulges out during a bowel movement; such as hemmorhoids or an anal cyst. There is no sense speculating about what you have - a doctor needs to see it and examine the area.

Leslie, no there is no bleeding that I can see, I also did at at home test that checks for hidden blood in stool and it was negative, don't know how accurate those are though. Would colon cancer be that low or would it be another type of cancer?

Why are you assuming that your problem is cancer? Is there a family history of colon/rectal/anal cancer? Again, the only way to find out exactly what your problem is is to see either a gastrointestinal doctor or a proctologist.

No I do not have a family history of these cancers but I am just real concerned what this lump can be, I thought maybe an internal hemorrhoid but it does not hurt and it seems to be making me have bloat, gas adn trouble passing stool, that's why I am freaking out.
