Dilemma: Gall Stone after Colon Surgery

My father is 64 and had Stage 2B Colon Cancer. He was operated in October 2011 and part of the colon was removed and joined using normal surgery. Post this he could do only 4 rounds of chemo and then stopped as he could not take it anymore.Since the operation he has been complaining of gas.

We did an ultrasound last week and discovered a 7 MM Gall stone. Also for the last few months he has excessive gas and abdominal bloating after he eats which settles down once he visits the toilet.

Considering the overall situation is Gall bladder removal necessary. We do not want him to go through another operation which could be lacroscopic. He has no pain or any other symptoms as such, only gas and bloating
