I am 51 years old and just had my fiirst colonoscopy this past Monday ( November 28th).
When I was in recovery the nurse came to discharge me and read what the dr. wrote on my chart. It said that I had rectal inflammation/colitis.
He also took a biopsy, which I will know the results of this coming Monday.
Is it common to have a biopsy for this, and also, could the prep have caused the inflammation? I did go A LOT!
I don't think I meet the criteria for colitis, personally.
Thanks for the info.
