Not the typical symptoms

I have had abdominal/pelvic pain on the lower left side and a backache. The doctor ordered a pelvic ultrasound to check for ovarian cancer, but I'm wondering if colon cancer ever presents this way. I had a colonoscopy 2 or 3 years ago.

Re: Not the typical symptoms

I have a similar problem which has never really been explained. If you continue to be concerned, maybe another colonoscopy would put your mind at rest. That could show up any other problems, such as diverticulitis.

Re: Not the typical symptoms

The ultrasound and CT scan showed nothing. Not sure how diverticulitis is found.

Re: Not the typical symptoms

I had some diverticulosis on one scan but it never showed up on future scans.

Colon cancer usually has symptoms of blood in your stool, sudden changes in bowel movements(going from one extreme to another over at least a two week period),color, and consistency for what is normal for you.

Hi I too had a colonoscopy arOund 5 years ago and are going through terrible troubles of bleeding and bloody, mucus stools ( sorry) abdominal pain along with masses in the colon.
My gastro dr sent me for a ct scan under the two week rule to make sure nothing else was going on but a bowel obstruction, I'm awaiting the results anxiously as colon cancer runs in the family.
At th same time I've had a ct scan for my kidneys as blood was found in the urine so now I'm thInking all sorts.
A lot of people have this pain and nothing is ever discovered please let me know how you get on

Take care
Jacq

Re: Not the typical symptoms

Boy with those symptoms, I'd have a colonoscopy soon.
