Unhappy PET scan shows fluid in left pelvic area

Aug 2011 I had surgery to remove 2 large tumors, one on each ovary. Doc found a 3rd tumor in my colon and I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. I have had my uterus and both ovaries removed. Also, had my gallbladder removed this past April and a LARGE abdominal hernia repaired. Been thru 12 sessions of intense chemotherapy and am now on perventative maintenance chemo. Three weeks ago I had a PET scan and it revealed some fluid build-up in my pelvic area, left side. Doc does not want to do a biopsy b/c he said it was very deep. I asked what should I look for - he said pain! Well, today for the first time - I'm feeling some pain....what is it? is there more cancer??? I am scared
