| im a teenager and having mucus on stool which i think gets worst with constipation ?
i noticed some streaks of white/yellowish mucus on my stool there was just a couple of streaks but then i got constipated (it always happens because of an operation i had) 2 days later i managed to go it was like a hard sausage but there was a lot more mucus this time like about 8 or 9 streaks of the stuff. i went to get a checkup with my surgeon because im always getting constipated after the op she said keep taking lactulose.i mentioned the mucus to her she said that usually means the bowel is "upset" for some reason. she told me to send a stool sample up which checks for some protein she said.but the results will take about 4 weeks to come back and if its positive she will refer me to a gastro doctor who might do a colonoscopy. im really scared i have colon cancer im only a teenager please help im so worried ?
