When was your original CT scan taken?
In my husband's case, the RCC was found while he was being treated for something else. Three months later he had a radical nephrectomy, but they did not do another CT scan.
RCC is usually, but not always, slow growing, so they don't usually do another CT unless they suspect a rapid-growth tumor.
