I'm suffering with some chest pain and I'd like some advice.
Background:
I'm 17-years-old and I play football regularly. I have suffered with asthma before but it has only been mild. It used to be severe. I have allergies to dust.
Symptoms:
I'm having one-sided chest pain, on the right. It comes on at night time, along with breathlessness. The pains and breathlessness only occur when I'm in my house. They sometimes occur outside, but not regularly.
The pain seems localised, and hurts more when i breathe deeply. At first, it seemed like the muscles were strained in the side of my chest. I did actually go to the doctors about it once and he said the same thing.
The pain can be quite sharp, or sometimes just a general ache. Occasionally, it wheezes. I can feel it wheezing.
I'm not coughing up blood. I don't have a cough. I have had swelling of my right neck, but the swelling came from the summer when I had hyperthoidirism... and it swelled my lymph nodes up. I don't think it is associated with the chest pains.
I have an appetite, I don't have any weight loss. I don't feel fatigued.
It may not be lung cancer - but you need to follow up with your doctor just in case. They can do an x-ray or CAT scan to rule it out. I had the same exact symptoms and had the x-ray and CAT scan and found out I had pleurisy and costochondritis. Both of these illnessess fit your description of your symptoms. You can learn more about them by visiting www.webmd.com and doing a search on them.
Follow up with your doctor!
Best of luck!
