To all of us who have lost a loved one to lung cancer: I give you love and support. You have my sincerest sympathy and I know this is a hard long road. My father died eight years ago but my heart is forever empty. We didn't even know he had lung cancer until the autopsy result. I want to post this poem to those of you, it helped me when my dad died:
I DID NOT DIE
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond's glint on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand on my grave and cry
I am not there. I did not die
