Hi,
I wonder if anyone has experience taking Iressa while receiving radiation treatment. My mom just started the radiation treatment this week for tumors spread to her brain, but she has been taken IRESSA for almost two years and it kept her lung clear. Is there any side effect for doing both at the same time? Or we should stop taking the IRESSA while doing the radiation?

Hi, my Sister has been on Iressa for a short while but also doing radiation - there doesn't seem to be a problem I woul have your mom keep taking The Iressa. Is your mom stage IV? My sister was just diagnosed please read my post and let me know what to expect if you have a chance.

Thanks, dempsey.
I want to say Iressa is a great drug. If it works for your sister, it could do the wonder. When my mom had the recurrent over two years ago, the doctor gave her six months, and did not recommend any more chemos. But my mom decided to fight this thing and continued with chemo, later Iressa. The past two years was the most precious time for my parents. They've visited the place when they first met. It's just incredible. It really depends on individual, no matter what stage you are in. The important thing is do not give up hope at any time. It's been five years since my mom was diagnosed.
Good luck with your sister's treatment. Please keep me posted on her progress.
Thanks for responding she seems overall to be doing well. I vented on the board earlier because no one responded I am just aggravated it's a bad day.
She is only 44 and I can't believe that within 6 months she would die the only downside is that she does not want anymore chemo.
