Re: Where is the BEST treatment center to go for LUNG Cancer...?
Hi there- I see you have had a lot of views, but no replies. I can not speak for everyone else, but I do not know where the best treatemnt is. My husband also has lung cancer (small cell) and was diagnosed as terminally ill in December, with 6-9 months to live. I have done so much research, and called all of the "best" clinics and hospitals. But unfortunately, with this lung cancer, all treatment plans are the same, So, taking him away from home would make no sense.
If you find a treatment, or a better place. Please tell us too. I know it hurts so bad when someone you love is so ill and you feel like there HAS to be something you can do, but you just don;t know what. In the beginning I drove myself almost over the edge trying to find that "miracle cure". I still look for other ways, but I try to keep things inperspevtive. The one thing I do not want to do is, get so wrapped up in trying to find something that is not there, and lose that valuable time with my husband. Sometimes, all we can do is be there.
I am NOT saying give up, because there is no hope. As long as there is a will to live, and God's presense, there is always hope! I am just advising you to keep a steady balane. Otherwise, you will become of no good to yopurself, or your uncle.
I wish you and your uncle the best. I hope find what you are looking for.
Re: Where is the BEST treatment center to go for LUNG Cancer...?
I agree with you; try not to spend all of your time left on searching for a miracle. My 42 year old husband was diagnosed 1 week ago with non-small cell lung cancer, Stage IV. The diagnosis came out of the blue. He had been tired and lost 20 lbs in 2 months, his regular doctor said he was in perfect health. Obviously not.
If you can get to Sloan-Kettering, or any other Cancer Center of Excellence, do it, but my husband is starting chemo next week and in th emeantime, I am building up his immune system, adding more protein to his diet, and eliminating the toxins from his body. We are not close-minded in terms of touch healing, crystals or anything else. We have 2 small children (6yrs and 4yrs) and they need their daddy.
Take care
