| | Symptoms? How do you know?
I am 32 yrs old and have been smoking since I was 20 (about a pack a day). I was wanting to know some things if anyone can help. I was having dull achey chest pain on and off about 5 months ago. Went to the doc and he said reflux. Did an Upper GI and it wasn't that.
Next doctor said I had Costochondritis (inflammation of the rib cartlidge) this made more sense because the symptoms of that are dull chest pain (sometimes sharp), shortness of breath (only sometimes), rib pain, my arms ached, back, collerbone and shoulders. I would get this pain after doing or lifting something heavy or pushing something heavy etc. But sometimes this pain would just flare up too with no known cause.
I was just wondering, if this were lung cancer, how would it represent itself? Would the pain be there all the time? I don't hurt everyday and I don't have trouble breathing all the time only during a bad flare-up of the costo.
I looked up symptoms of Lung cancer and chest pain was on there but it also said that this particular symptom was usually at the end stages. I haven't had chronic bronchial problems nor have I ever had pneumonia so I was just hoping for some reassurance.
My mind just start going and I have a hard time dealing with this costo thing that my mind says that it must be something more serious.
Can anyone Help me with this???
