Unhappy It's over...

On Friday morning, August 20th, my sister-in-law called my husband and I at 2:47am. Brian passed away. The entire week was extremely difficult as he had deteriorated significantly. A week before his death he was eating and making jokes, a few days later, he became more and more tired and by the 2nd to last day he could not swallow anymore and no longer cosume food or water. It was heardbreaking to see my sister-in-law hold on to him as long as she could. The funeral was today and it was obviously emotional. My husband made a speech. I have been with him for over 8 years and not once have I seen him cry. Today was a different story, he could hardly keep it together as everyone else was the same. Brian was only 39. After his death..I spent the entire weekend sleeping at my sister-in-laws home..staying up with her to make her tea, food, do her laundry, talk to her, cry with her. I can not imagine what she is feeling..empty ..alone...depressed... I wish I could say something to help. But there is nothing that can take the pain away. The entire illness from the day he was diagnosed was only 7 weeks. Unreal... I send hugs out to everyone who is going through this. It is so hard to understand any of this.
