She's gone

My mom passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2004. It was her birthday. I was so very blessed to be with her when she passed. I know so many of you need to know what happened because thats how I felt.
Friday night was my night to sleep over with her. She had been so grouchy for the past month (she was diagnosed small cell limited Aug 2, 2004. She had chosen no treatment). When I walked in Fri night, she said, "I have such wonderful children" I didn't know at that time that she was starting her journey, but she did. I thought the medicine was making her sleepy. They had just changed her to methadone the day before and I didn't know what to expect. She knew, and wanted to let me know how much she loved all of her kids. She spent her last two days trying so hard to make sure we knew.
I know I only was on this site a short time, but it helped so much. I will come back and let you all know how her last two days went. I remember needing those stories over the last month.

Re: She's gone

sanderlings- Thank you for sharing your story. Per our discussion on a different thread, I am so happy that you were able to know that the Lord was there, and he did take her to be with him. What a feeling it is to know that.

Though we are saddened by our losses, not just you and I, but many others; we are happy for what the ones we love have gained.
Renee
