| Re: husband has lung cancer
Winy- My husband went through quite an emotional struggle to, for a time. The emoptional part did not reman, it last for a few weeks. I think for him, it is probably normal. Being told you have cancer can really knowck you off of your feet. It is important that you stay strong, he will draw his strength from you. Remind him, you are with him, and will stay with him. Let him know this is your fight too, and you plan to give it all you've got. It is important that he feels like he is not alone, and you are going to help him. Look for positive information from this board, or other boards. Read him posts from people who are winning the struggle. Give him a lot of hugs, just hold him and let him cry. He is scared. As for food. He is probably not feeling real hungry. With Scott, I gave him red jello (only one that did not make him sick) chocolate boost and crackers. Before he gets out of bed, give him a few crackers and a little bit broth from Campbell's checkedn soup *about 1/3 cup) dilluted. After he eats the crackers and drinks the broth, get him to stay in bed for about 10 more minutes before he gets up. Everyone responds different to chemo, this worked for Scott.
I wish you luck, it is a tough road. Just remember, YOU will be his strenght through this, so take care of yourself to.
What type of lung cancer does he have?
Prayers are with you!
Renee
