Series of tragic events for us - Cancer: Lung Message Board

I wanted to let everyone know that on 12/11/2004 my husband was killed in a head on collision with a drunk driver who crossed over lanes. On 12/22/2004 we lost my husband's grandmother to emphysema and this morning, 1/2/2005 I lost my mother to lung cancer, emphysema and osteoporosis.

For the next few days I will be traveling to my mother's funeral so I won't be able to reply until I return.

Robin, my heart is with your family at this time too.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we begin this new year with heavy hearts.

I am so very, very sorry to hear of all of these auful things. I truly do not know what to say to you except that I want you to know you are in my heart and in all of my prayers. My heart is breaking for you right now. Please try to take care of yourself.

Lisa,

Words can't do anything to ease the pain you must be feeling...so I won't even attempt to put together anything other than a genuine prayer for peace to come your way.

I can't imagine how upside down your life must feel right now and I pray that you have people in your life to give you the support you need.

If, for some reason, you do not have what you need out there...please come back here. I plan to be returning often and I would welcome the chance to talk with you more.

Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. They have held us up the past few weeks. It has been a nightmare.

My husband was in Illinois in a training seminar for a couple of weeks. He and another trainee were out shopping for Christmas when the drunk driver swerved lanes and hit them head on. My husband was killed instantly as was the driver of the other vehicle. The driver of my husband's vehicle is still in a coma (after 4 weeks) with some very serious injuries still.

We expected both my Mother and his grandmother to pass away at any time but it was very difficult regardless. We lost all three in 21 days.

I don't believe I've come out of shock yet as being a widow of 4 weeks and an orphan of 1 week seems so unreal that it couldn't be true.

Mostly I seem to move from hug to hug these days.
