Could this be lung cancer - Cancer: Lung Message Board

I know this sounds dumb but here goes. I am a smoker, still trying to quit. I have not seen a doctor as of yet because of no Ins. My problem is, I have this burning tingling pain in my left arm down to my fingers and a burning pain behind my left shoulder blade. Is this a symptom?? All under my arm is quite sore as well. I had a heart attack two years ago and thought this may be angina but then I thought you dont have angina pain constantly every day. So now I am thinking cancer. I dont have a cough but I do get winded from physical activities if I over do it. Cancer doen not run in my family that I know of. Oh and one last thing I forgot is now and then I will get a twinge pain in my breast or at least I think its coming from there. Does anyone at all have any ideas for me?? Sorry for posting so long a message.

I don't know if it's cx but it sounds like something muscular. I get a burning sensation in my shoulder blades if I stand too long and sit in one position for too long. The tingling could be caused by a pinched nerve that goes down your arm. If the nerve is pinched in your neck or back it will cause pain in your back and arm. Try using hot and cold compresses on your upper back or wherever the pain initiates and take something for the inflammation, like aspirin. If it does not help, you should find a way to see a doctor.

Thanks Missy, but I dont think its muscular. I have tried heat and cold on it and get no relief. I read on one web site that had the same symptoms as mine and it was a Pancost Tumor which is Lung Cancer, the tumor is located at the top of the lung. I just dont know what to think. I came here because everyone is so nice and understanding and alot of people on here are very smart and know different things and different symptoms. But thank you so much for your reply.

Sorry I couldn't help. My father had lung cancer but he didn't develop pain until the late stages of his illness. They found the tumor by chance when they did a chest x-ray.

Trying to quit????? I was a smoker for 25 years, so I do know what you are going through. But, I have to share with you, once one finds out they have lung cancer, it is very easy to quit. I saw that with my precious grandmother and with now with my precious sister. Please do it before you and and your family has to suffer deeply. It's too late to quit once you have the lung cancer. And most people think it is only lung cancer, I also knew a man with tongue cancer, not pretty what they had to do to him. And then there is emphasyma, at least cancer you die, with emphasyma you struggle to get air in your lungs! Quitting is hard, it takes courage. You can do it, I know you can. Don't make your loved ones suffer. Smoking is a killer in one form or another destroys families. Please quit and the bonus will be within just 24 short hours your blood supply will get better and your body will start to repair itself. I'm going to keep you in my prayers, truly I am.
