Whole brain radiation therapy - Cancer: Lung Message Board

diagnosed 6/7/01 adencarcinom,right lung removed,stage IV.MRI 6/11/01 brain showed 1 1.3cm tumor and 8-10 subcentimeter lesions.Started chemo 6/18/01, on 7/12/01 another MRI brain shows significan reduction (15%-20%)in the one major lesion and can longer see some of the smaller lesions,have had no radiation yet!another MRI to be today.Done 4 round of chemo,will start whole brain radiation next week.I am 19 years old. Please tell me how you did and how long to recover? thank you

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAD THE NEW BRAIN MRI ON FRIDAY 9/7/01 it showed the tumor and lesions are smaller by 80% only showing 3 or 4 marking in brain.The doc's can belive it, so we have a new plan no brain radiation and start on new chemo drugs(gemzar and cisplatin) do all test again, pet scan,ct,bone,MRI lung test and maybe the drug Artdia.I think God is giving my daugther a true MIRACLE.Adriane is only 19 and has two sister one 17 and the other 15 I know that prayer does work.THANK YOU GOD

things just keep getting BETTER!!!!!!!!!
Adriane had a cat scan on 10/5/01 and showed no change. The last ct was 8/16/01 her PET scan was on 10/9/01 and things look good there too!This chemo has been very hard on her. adriane red blood count has gone down to a 6 and on 10/16/01 she got 2 units red blood cell. she is also on procrit 1ML inject 3 times a week. The doc's can belive this is happen. ADRIANE IS WINNING THE FIGHT!When you have good news it help you to keep going even though it is so hard.
LUNG CANCER IS NOT GOING TO STOP THIS 19 YEAR OLD!
