Swelling in Legs - Cancer: Lung Message Board

Has anyone experience swelling either in their calves or feet or both with the cancer? My legs are swollen so badly that I can barely walk from the knees down to the instep of the foot. And it's painful. I called my doctor and he told me he'd examine me at my regular appoinment next Tuesday. For now I'm elevating my legs on pillows, but it does nothing for the swelling of the pain. Any other ideas?

Hello Walter, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your legs. I'm very surprised to hear that your Doctor expects you to suffer like this until next week before he will examine you. If I were you I would go and see a Doctor sooner, it could be something completely unrelated to your cancer. What if it were an infection or something, you would need to be treated immediately. It seems very harsh expecting you to wait a whole week. If you were treated today, the problem may be gone by next week. Please let us know how you get on, we're thinking of you. Take care now, Ann.
