Hi,

Well tomorrow I'm heading back to Iowa. I am going to stay the week. I've been home the last week and it feels so senseless to be here when I know that in such a short time I won't be able to see dad at all.

My daughter has leave next week as she is heading to Turkey (Air Force), but she will come visit me there and say good-bye to her grandpa.

His catheter is back in, we don't want him wasting energy on getting out of bed to go to the bathroom. My mom is talking of putting him at the hospice house. She would feel more comfortable, she is not sure if she can handle what might come. I've assured her that she could (she is very strong), but if that is what will make this easier, then we will go visit the house. The nurses are coming every day now. He still recognizes people. He eats ice cream, butterscotch pudding and tapioca. So from all that, I feel we have a little time left. He doesn't speak much because his lungs are full, but he knows you are there. He sleeps most of the time. I just want this to be pain free for him and I know his best friend/brother and his other siblings are waiting for him. They always relied on him to fix things and make trouble.

Anyway, it is hard to get to the board when I'm not home, but I wanted to let you all know how grateful I am for your support, I read all your posts and cry with you. I'll be back in about a week to post an update, if I can tear myself away from him. I just like looking at him and knowing he was my father.
