Hello again,

Just wanted to let everyone know that Walter will be coming home on Friday and he so far will allow me to have Respite care and a homemaker that comes twice per week to help me. He's still dead set against the hospice and I'm afraid arguing with him in his condition will do him more harm than good so until he gets too difficult to handle at home or without assistance I'll let him have his way for now. Perhaps when he gets back to the board, you all can help me persuade him.

Hello Dana, it's good to hear that Walter will soon be home. No one likes being in hospital and I'm sure Walter will feel alot better when he's at home with his family. I wish you all the best and hope that Walter will recover ehough for you to take that trip you had planned in August. Take care now, and God bless, I'll be thinking of you, Ann.

Dear Dana, I am so happy for you and Walter. Being at home is such a comfort when one is sick, I think we all can agree on that one.
With my husband, I dreaded asking for Hospice, also. What did help Don and I was when Hospice told us that we can stop their help when he got to feeling better. So, that was what we did. We had them in the summer........he got much better and we cancelled them.
A few months later when he got so bad, he didn't mind me asking for their help.
I agree with you. Whatever makes him feel better
that is the whole idea and the best medscine we can do. I would never have taken away Don's control. That would have done him in, I know.
Since he was out of work for so long and I am disabled, when Hospice paid for his medications..that was such a major help.
