 Allergic Reaction to Chemo Drug???
Has anyone had or heard of this? My mom has had TWO allergic reactions to her chemotherapy medication. The first week she experienced itching, and they gave her Benadryl. I guess they thought that maybe that reaction wasn't too bad, because they gave it to her again, and again, she experienced itching, and then pain and burning in her chest. They had to give her Benadryl and Alavert. It's so frustrating! Why wouldn't they stop it the first time? Now she hasn't had a full treatment in two weeks. All that does it set her back. Gggggrrrrr!!!!
Oh yeah, did I mention, this is the second allergic reaction she has had to a chemotherapy drug? They have already changed her medication once, and now they will be changing it again. I would think that the first cocktail they started her on is the best for her NSCLS, and any subsiquent cocktail would be less effective?
