 mum has lung cancer
My mum was just recently diagnosed with lung cancer. she's 76 and in
reasonable health except for a persistent cough she got from a cold
several months ago. The cold went but the cough stayed. Finally she had
herself checked out with an x-ray and CT scan which confirmed the worst.
I don't know much about it, except it's a carcinoma and (as far as i
know) there aren't any signs of any spread to other organs. Her doc said
the tumor has been growing for last 6 months....he couldn't really say
much more about it.
she's seeing an oncologist tomorrow. i guess we'll know more then.
naturally we're all very shocked by this....
I had no idea that lung cancer is a bigger killer than breast for women.
anyone with advice or personal opinions on this matter, i wouldn't mind
hearing from soon...
I guesss what i'm really asking is what are our hopes?.
how often do people beat it?
Right now, it's just too much of a shock that someone with a mild cough can end up dying from this.
