Too young for lung cancer? - Cancer: Lung Message Board

Hi Guys, I frequently see people ask isn't this too young for lung cancer? While it is more common as we age it is possible to get it at a young age. I just finished reading "Cure" a very interesting magazine about cancer a friend of my moms gave her as a gift. There is a little blurb about Rena Inoue who is a two time US pairs figure skating champion AND an eight year lung cancer survivor! It says she was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 22, two years after her father died of lung cancer. It does not say which type and I will assume that it was early stage since she is alive 8 years later and skating. I just thought this was interesting and worth mentioning here. L.A. freeways??? May God be with you my child!

I learned to drive in L.A. (I graduated from Venice H.S. if any of you have heard of it) and my kids were freaking out at learning to drive here in Evansville (pop. 125,000 approx). I told them you haven't seen traffic until you've traveled the Santa Monica Fwy a few times.....

Interesting tid-bit you had for us JanMarie. I've read Cure before, our oncologist's office subscribes to it. It has some good information on new breakthroughs, etc...and personal accounts.
