Well, my dad starts Chemo and Radiation tomorrow. He's been able to get a room in a place that is attached to the cancer clinic so he doesn't have to travel. He'll be there from Monday to Friday and then home on the weekends for the duration of the treatment. I'm worried about how this is going to go though. He's already sooo weak and thin that I'm afraid the treatment is going to do more harm than good. Only time will tell I guess...I'll try to keep updated.
Ayre, I will send lots of prayers your dad's way. The fatigue associated with chemo usually starts about 48 hrs-72 hrs after a dose as there is usually a steroid given for a day or two with most chemo and most people get a little buzz from it. We would call my mom an energizer bunny during her buzz! Best of luck to your dad. Jan Marie
Ayre,
I will keep your dad in my thoughts tomorrow as he starts his chemo and radiation. You just never know how one reacts to chemo, but hopefully he responds well and get some results.
Prayers coming your way,
Kim
Well, new news as of Friday apparently, the new chemotherapist has said that dad is not strong enough to endure both treatments at the same time so they're only going ahead with chemo for the time being...he said that he may not have made it through treatment had he had both. I knew I was worried for a reason. I'm happy with the new plan and he gets his first dose of chemo tomorrow. Thanks for the thoughts everyone!
