my mom has lost her voice after chemo

Does anyone know if losing your voice is chemo related. She is sayng that her throat hurts and they couldn't do the broncoscopy because of that a while back. She had adeno stage iii and cured it, but now she is very tired and having problems speaking.

I'm always worried that they missed something, but who knows.

Any ideas or thoughts on this?
Thanks

Re: my mom has lost her voice after chemo

My sister lost her voice after chemo. Her doctor said the chemo paralyzed her left vocal cord. They said it would get better but it didn't. She also had adeno. She was stage 1 when they found it and had surgery. Then the next year had chemo. The year after that, she had chemo again. It didn't help with the voice.

I hope that your mother voice returns. I am glad she is cured. You let your mom know how much you love her. Everyday is precious.

God bless you and your mom,

Bunni

Re: my mom has lost her voice after chemo

My husband lost his voice after he first started chemo...We thought he had laryingitis but the Doctor said there was nerve damage to the left side of his throat...he had surgery and the Dr. Pulled the bad side over so the good side would connect and he could talk right at the time of his surgery...His voice is a little hoarse at times but much better.....Hope this helps...GOD BLESS

Re: my mom has lost her voice after chemo

thanks for helping me with this. It turns out that they are giving her speech therapy. Strange. They can not seem to find any reason for this.

anyway, thanks for your replies.
