Hi, I am new to this forum and have a few questions that I would really like some answers to please.
My sister, 56 yrs old, 1 pack a day smoker, recently went to emerg with a collapsed rt lung. She was referred to the surgical dr. (who is the oncologist) and after a lot of x-rays and a cat scan the end result is that she needs surgery to remove the (air-filled cysts) in both of her lungs and to repair the tear in the collapsed one. She has lost alot of weight in the last few months,to the point that almost everyone that sees her asks if she is sick.I should also add that she has not been for a physical of any kind since my nephew was born (19 yrs ago),
The surgeon never mentioned anything about Ca but i suspect that they don't say so until they are 100% sure, which would be after the surgery.
Needless to say, I am worried sick. I realize that no one here can answer with any certainty my questions, however I thought that just maybe someone had a similar situation at sometime and would care to tell me what their outcome was. Thanks for your time, sincerely Tayreb
