Life expectancy - Cancer: Lung Message Board

I was wondering how long after, with no treatment, or diagnosis, does lung cancer last from start to finish?

What I mean right a the day the cancer developed (whether the patient knows or not) until the patient dies? if not cured of course.

Does it depend where the cancer is in the lung?

How exactly does it slowly kill someone? fatigue? immune system? or can this happen fast?

Just curious, I don't understand how it works.

It depends on a lot of things, what kind of cancer (small or non-small), if and how far it's spread, where it's spread, what other organs it's affecting.

But if you know those things, doctors can give you a pretty good idea. They told us that if my mother didn't have treatment, she had 3-4 months. She had treatment, it didn't work, and she lived 3 and a half months after diagnosis.
