Worried... - Cancer: Lung Message Board

So my dad finished radiation last week and had an appointment yesterday just to sort out meds and see where he was at and he was weighed. He's only 118lbs at 6 feet 2 inches tall.

We know that is NOT good at all and now I'm worried that this is going to affect him worse than the cancer itself! Anyone have any advice or experience with being underweight? He also has NO appetite which they said was normal but makes me more worried. He says he feels like he's been fighting a cold for the last two weeks too...I just can't stop worrying...

i know exactly how you feel, i lost my mom to cancer and she lost a lot of weight. but she did have throat cancer which made it hard for to swallow, but try to get him to drink ensures, boosts, and some food or atleast soup. but yea i know how you feel...

He is on ensure, twice a day...but that can't be enough to sustain him and he's not eating much more than that.

try soups first, to maybe ease him on food. two ensures isnt good either try 4. i know its difficult but its important that he eat and to be healthy and strong enough to beat this disease because he can. also try making fruit drinks for him as well
