More tests

Saw the oncologist today, on Tues. I will have a PET scan, MIR of the brain, see the oncologist and radiologist. It is a full day, but I do hope I will then know where we are going. The Dr. has told me for sure chemo, but must have all the test results before he will know which chemo drugs to use. I just want to make sure there are mno surprises hiding elsewhere in the body. My husband, Lee, is just a doll and very supportive. Granted we are both concerned, but have been consentrating on the positive. We do thingd One day at a time.

Re: More tests

Hi
I haven't been on since lately. I have had all my test and feel real greatful that the PET and brain scan showed no cancer. I travel about 3 hours round trip to see Dr and test. Had to go back on Wed for raidiation planning and backe again on Thru for more planning and my 1st radiation treatment, and another on on Fri. I just got plain tuckered out esspecially with the traveling. I also have O2 24/7 and still get winded. This Mon, Tues, and Wed I start chemo after radiation. I'm a bit concerned about the effect.
Tonight I am going to our grandsons graduation. I can't miss it. My husband has made sure I have the wheelchair as he knows I can't walk the distance.
I'm sure I will have some bad days but for now I try to stay very upbeat.

Mary

Re: More tests

Hi Mary
I am so glad to hear the test showed no cancers in other parts of your body. That is a good, good thing.
I know your trepidation about the effects the radiation and chemo will have on you. We all react differently, but of course the nausea and tiredness seem to bee "standard" for most of us. Stay up with the anit-nausea meds and rest when you feel like it. Do your best to stay hydrated and well-nourished if you can. Some people sail thru it with no side effects. Others of us have one or more side-effects that are troublesome.
And remember we're here to help when you have questions or concerns or just want to rant. We are all here for the info and support.
Faith

Faith,

I'm sure I will have some questions as this goes along. Thanks for the support.
