yesterday...

was an emotionally draining day...

Chris' sisters came down and went with me to make arrangements at the cemetary/mortuary....I have been told many times it is better to do this ahead of time....I can understand now...

there are so many decisions/details etc... and we arent really doing anything that elaborate....we want this to be not so formal and more of a celebration memorial...uplifting etc etc...

anyway...it was tough..just another acknowledgement that this is really happening..but it is done... now I have them available when the time comes to just make that one phone call and it is taken care of....

Re: yesterday...

Hi Snoopy
I'm sorry you had to face this task yesterday. I don't think it matters when, or at what age we have to do these things, they are terribly hard to do. I had to be part of the arrangements for my mom when I was 23 years old. I still remember that day and how hard it was.
My prayers are for strength for you Snoopy.
With Hugs,
Faith

Re: yesterday...

Snoopy,

Sorry, sorry, sorry!! That had to be the pits. I really wish hospice wouldn't encourage people to make arrangements ahead of time. They did that to my SIL and Nephew when my BIL was ill. My husband hit the roof. (Suffice to say, I won't be doing that when his time comes! )

Many hugs coming your way for some rest and peace. You've got to be absolutely numb.

PBJ

Re: yesterday...

It's hard to make those decisions-sometimes it is better to make them ahead of time...we did make some of those decisions before our mom died last year. In fact we talked with her on what she wanted her service to be like....that was hard-and interesting as she told us she wanted "upbeat christian music" and requested that my brother sing 'Drummer Boy' for her. take care,Cherie
