Cancer has reappeared - Cancer: Lung Message Board

Hi everyone, just wanted some general opinions.

My friend's mother had cancer about 6 months ago and the doctors were able to treat her with chemo. and other things to the point where the cancer disappeared. But about a month ago, the cancer reappeared in her lungs and her bloodstream. She's had a couple of opinions and the general consensus is that it's terminal. The doctor's are giving her less than a year to live.

I'm just in disbelief right now and feel helpless. A big part of me is saying, "There has to be another way. Perhaps another cancer research facility that will have better opinions." I haven't been able to accept this.

Any other possible opinions/cancer facilities they may be able to see?

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. To be honest, I'm not sure of any good places to check into. Don't listen to statistics, each person is unique and may not fall into these time frames - there are many people here who have surpassed the time the doctors had given them....
I think you're already on the best path - research and plan out your best method of attack and you'll see good results will happen.
