new . . . and so very sad . . .

Thanks for the replies. I know I am not alone in this experience, and that does help somewhat.

My mom is going at 6:30 for a bronchoscopy tomorrow. I suppose we will know more afterwards. The pulmonary doctor seemed rather optimistic, in spite of the bone scan results. He said whatever is wrong has yet to be determined... I am not getting my hopes up though and am preparing myself for the worst. If it were benign, why would she be so sick?? I am just beside myself with worry and so confused. My mom never smoked a single cigarette in her life, so why did this happen?? I know there is really no answers...

I will update when we have news. Thanks again.

Re: new... and so very sad...

My mom's biopsy was yesterday. We'll have the results today or Monday. The doctor said from his experience, it looks like the lung growth is metastatic. So she may have something else.... bone cancer, lung cancer, and an unknown. :(

I am so lost. I don't understand why this is happening.. she never smoked, never drank, always took good care of herself. So very confused... and no clue what to do.

I am so sorry about your mother. I just wrote you the other night and I explained to you exactly what happened to my mother. It is the most horrible thing in my life. I am so lost without my mother. We were best friends. I really never thought that I would lose my mother at such a young age. Her mother was 91 when she passed away. My mother was only 70. I still feel like I am in shock and it is almost a year. I still keep asking the question why??????? and I know that I will never get an answer. How old is your mother? I still think that my mother had bone cancer and then it spread to her brain and lung, because she only had a tiny lesion on her left lung. She had many tumors in her brain, when she was first diagnosed. I hope everything works out. Keep in touch. Blueeyes

Blueeyes, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I feel the same way and keep asking why is this happening. My grandparents all lived to be in their 90s, and my grandpa was 104 when he passed! I never ever expected my mom to be so sick this young.

My mom will be 74 in exactly one week.

No results yet, so I'm assuming we'll get the official news Monday. And we'll see where we go from there...
