Unhappy Is this cancer?

Hi guys,

Need your advice. I have been a smoker for more than 10 years. For the last 1 year i have been putting on weight. Currently i am at 90kg and my height is 182cm. i used to be around 75 - 80kg.

For the past 2 years, i noticed that i am having some symptoms. I noticed that i have hair growing from my palms. This happen many times, but not that often. Only recently, i had 2 strands of hair growing from my thumbs. one from the left and 2 from the right. As i am writting now, i noticed a hair growing from my right thumb.

I have a small node underneath my right armpit. When i press that area, i will be able to feel it hidden underneath my skin. This node has been there for i think 2 years. Recently there is a node behind my left ear. I noticed that when i dip myself in the swimming pool ( cold ) the node will shrink a little. It should be a node as it has been there for quite sometime.

During this time i also have some boil at my testiscles. It will be there for a while, then it dissappears. When i keep pressing it, then there will be blood coming out.

The most recent symptom is that i am having chest pains. i feel like it is my heart that is giving way. when i take deep breath there will be a blockage in the middle. My back, near the should blade areas are stiff. The center of my right feet is really in pain. i can feel it when walking.

These days, i also feel tired. I have been snoring loud.

Any opinion guys?

Re: Is this cancer?

No one can diagnose cancer just by reading about symptoms.

Go to your Doctor tell him/her all your symptoms, have some tests done and go from there. I wouldnt worry until you have to. But do go checked out.

Re: Is this cancer?

Hi,

Just to update my condition. Took a full blood work. Waiting for results. Breathing has been better. Less pain. 2 days ago when sleeping, when i sleep on the side my chest was painful. Yesterday was allright. Maybe my lungs or heart got imflamed. Anyhow waiting for the bloodtest. Then would go for an x-ray. I am really scared. Reminds me of my good friend who passed away due to liver cancer at early 30's. May god rest his soul.

Sigh, I just spit out sputum. Got a little blood. Not sure whether it is from the lung or throat. But i noticed that every morning, before i would want to spit out, can feel that there would be blood. I really hope that i would be okay. Pls pray for me guys!!

Re: Is this cancer?

Hi,

on 1st november 2.00 am, my chest hurt. i got up and prayed. Then i tried to sleep. Unable to as feel pain and uncomfortable. I told myself that i am gonna go to the hospital. At the hospital, i took various test. ECG - came back normal. Did echo, the doctor says it is normal. heart pumping well. They took the test for lung capacity. they say that it is good. I did an xray of my lungs and they told me that it is clear. i showed them the swelling behind my ear, at the cartilage, i am sure it is a lymph node, they say that at the cartilage they are no lymph nodes. They say, probably it is a cyst. They ask me if i vomited, i said that i can taste the vomit soemtimes, as i try to force out the flam.So they are treating me for gastric.

But today when i woke up, i found that behind my ear, there is another lump. Also at the cartilage. What the hell is going on?? I walked a short distance today, little fast, and i start to be short of breath!! so what is this?? lung cancer? stomach cancer? heart problem? psychological problem??

Re: Is this cancer?

Heartbeat..............

CALM DOWN......

You have had chest x rays which would almost definetely show any abnormalities on your lungs, the lumps maybe just cysts, i had two in close proximatey on my back, and even if they were lymph nodes, they come up when you are under stress and your body is feeling the strain too.

Your bloods are ok, so you can do a couple of things. Either go back to your Doctor, tell him you still dont feel too good, and that you want further tests. Or you can go back and ask him to refer you to a councelor, im thinking you have gotten yourself into a state about this, and maybe you should be looking down the pyscological route. Anxiety can cause some weird physical sensations.

What did they say about blood in your spit?

Re: Is this cancer?

I didn't tell the doctor regarding the blood in the sputum as it is a small streak of blood. Usually, i can taste the blood when my throat is dry especially in the morning. Do u think it is a concern?

Also i got my bloodwork report today, it shows taht i may have a problem with my heart. My good cholestrol is low and bad cholestrol is high. i took a test called HOMOCYSTEINE and the result is at borderline. SGOT,SGPT,GGT all are at the high side.

Now, my throat starts to itch, makes me cough a lot. Don't know whether this would be a symptom of lung cancer. Also is the doctor right??? that there is no lympth nodes at the back of the ear, at the cartilage? I could feel 2 lumps now at the back of my ear just on top of the earlobe. How do u differentiate a cyst and a lympth node?

Re: Is this cancer?

I had a cyst on my earlobe once, i dont think you would have a lymph node there.

As for itchy throat i dont think its a sign of lung cancer at all. More like an allergy of some sort, which may be scratching the back of your throat causing the bleeding.

I do think you need to go to maybe a different Doctor and get a second opinion on the bleeding from your throat though. It prob is nothing serious but always wise to check out any sort of bleeding.

Have you a persistant bad cough, bad chest, coughing UP blood that is tarry and dark? are you losing weight? im thinking these are symptoms of lung cancer, my Grandad had it and had terrible back pain also, so im not seeing you tell us of those symptoms, so please try not to worry. Just go back and be firm about doing some more tests with the throat.

Also there isnt anything wrong with your heart if you have high cholesterol !!! its a different thing, and something that can be brought under control. I'm sure your heart is healthy.

After all this is sorted out you need to seek some pysological help, as you seem to blow these ailments out of proportion, and thats the un healthy bit!!

Keep us posted.

Re: Is this cancer?

I am just dissapointed with myself. I let myself get into this kinda of things. Should not have smoked.

Guys, i need all of your advice and expertise.

As you all have read my condition, what do i have?? What is the problem?? Saw a doctor today, he is giving me something to reduce my cholestrol. i have breathing difficulties. I am not sure whether i am ok, but i always yawn and feel sleepy. I tend to close my eyes now and then even at work. Like i am so tired. Fatique. Yesterday when i was at the mall, took a short walk, suddenly felt weak and tired. Then, when i reached my condominium, i took 17 floors of staircase. Was breathing heavily/panting, but feel good after the sweat came out. On the other hand, i took sometime to recover. It is like when i had chestpains, the next day i went swimming, felt my lungs to be clear. but when i rest at home on the sofa, my chest tightens.

I started coughing 3 days ago. Feel like my throat itches. I spit out phelgm, brown colour. its liek a dot or something.. I brought it to the doctor. The doctor could not comment much.

When i start to talk to people, i seem to have less energy. The breath to speak has deteriorated. When i told the doctor all this, he relates it to the heart. Needs the stress test to confirm. The question, why is he relating to the heart alone? How about lung cancer??? I an terrified with this. Is this muscle pull? heart problem? Just took my xray on 1st november. The doctors says that it is clear. So what am i having???

Now they are treating me for acid reflux. How can it be acid reflux if i am out of breath everyday?? Gosh so unsure of what's the problem wif me. Honestly, Can this be the beggining of lung cancer??meaning probably stage 1?? help me!!

Re: Is this cancer?

I tried to advise you a bit. Not sure you want to hear it though.

Go back to the Doctor insist on more tests, tell him about the coughing up of blood. Then ask him about some councelling. I think you are suffering from anxiety, which needs some help.

Re: Is this cancer?

I know that i am feeling worried. But if i am feeling better than i need not worry too much. But things are becoming worst. Yesterday, when to see a doctor, he gave me medicine for asid reflux and medicine to bring down cholestrol. I told him that i am beginning to have a slight cough. My throat will be itchy, then i need to cough. he gave me cough mixture. At night, when i ate the medicine, i particularly felt that the cough syrup was quite strong. Anyways, later on, i started to cough, when i spitted out, i saw blood. Of course the spit is more than the blood, and now i am worried. So i tried to force more phelgm out, but each time i spitted out there was no blood. I went to sleep after that. In the middle of the night, i coughed like crazy. I noticed that i cough more at night. My first spit again contained blood. Then my others did not. I tried to cool my thoughts by thinking that there must be sore on my throat as i cough alot and pressured my throat to spit out more phelgm. But as i swallowed, i could not feel the sore on my throat. In the morning, when i woke up, i could feel that my throat was very dry. And as i swallowed slowly, i noticed taht there is a slight sting and i feel a slighty soreness.

Worry bucket, u told me to go to see the doctor for more tests. What kind of tests??? how to differentiate blood from the throat and lungs? Thats why i keep asking whether is this the early signs of lung, or throat or esofagus cancer?? When i used the symptom checker, when u click on the chest, strenum, there are options. they asked whether the chest pain is stabbing/sharp or dull/aching. If i put it as dull/aching, one of the cause could be esofagus cancer. So, the question how to differentiate sharp/stabbing pain and dull/aching pain?

Re: Is this cancer?

Why does it all have to be cancer with you??? There are tons of things that could be causing this, acid reflux being one of them. Listen to your doctor.

Re: Is this cancer?

STOP looking on the internet for your symptoms. It's the worse thing you can do if you worry about illness.

Listen to your doctor, they wouldnt dismiss you if they thought you had all the cancers you think you have. GO BACK and talk to the Doctor, tell him/her that you are worrying 24/7 and that you cant go about your every day life as its consuming you.

I still think theres not much wrong with you medically, and a lot of these symptoms are typical of anxiety. If the Doc does the tests and tells you there is no cancer, you need to set about getting yourself back on track pyschologically.

Its help with Anxiety you need, and probably npt cancer. Dont wait any longer, make that appointment and alleviate your fears.

Keep us posted, and DO IT !!

Re: Is this cancer?

i understand what you are trying to tell me. Today i went to a ear, nose and throat specialist. I told him about all of this. Especially the blood from my cough yesterday. He checked me thouroughly. Checked my throat and he told me that there are no wounds. He checked my nose and he told me that since i frequently get nose bleeds, he told me that this is the trail, flowed to my throat. The last nose bleed i got was 3 days ago i think. Anyhow, he has given me medicine to treat my nose and he says that in 2 weeks if i still cough blood, he told me to get a ct scan to rule out the lungs issue. so, now i am just gonna relax and let time pass. I asked him about my brownish phelgm, he told me it is a smokers phelgm. Coz my lungs are stain. Yes,i do have smokers cough every morning, just that i didn't realize it. He told me not to force the phelgm out, as it may brake blood vessels in the throat. so i ask him whether taht wound can be seen?? he said no. Probably soreness i feel every morning is it. Thats all for the update.

Re: Is this cancer?

You see Heartbeat !!

There is a logical explanation for your bleeding throat. these Doctors are specialists in their felid, they know what they are talking about, and rarely make mistakes, so put your trust in him, and have some faith ok?

As for the scan, let the time come, try not to panic or worry, and calmly have it done and make decisions after you get the result.

But seriously ...in the mean time, have some councelling for your acute anxiety, when you get better with that, you will find you wont worry half as much about illnesses. Trust me i know, i was the same for years. Im a lot better now but i still worry a little, if its in your make up you cant change. But anxiety councelling will make it a whole lot better, really.

BE HAPPY
