Odds of lung cancer from second hand smoke?

Hello all, I was wondering if any of you knew the odds of getting lung cancer from second hand smoke? I was a waitress for several years. And I have also been at a casino frequently where I have been exposed to smoke. I have never smoked a cigarette a day in my life. The reason why I am worried is because I have alot of mucus in my throat. My chest feels tight at times. I feel like I have to try and get a full breath and concentrate on my breathing alot. I do have acid reflux and have had an endoscopy done in Jan. which came back fine. But I haven't had my lungs checked. I haven't been diagnosed with asthma yet. But I do have bad allergies. I can't seem to clear the mucus. It is a constant problem. It's only been real bad for a week now. There are times when it clears up completely in the dead of winter. But we are back into full bloom with everything outside. Ugh!

Anyhow..I am truly scared. I am scared that they will find something seriously wrong. I am also afraid that I am being a hypocondriate. I have had tests run on me all the time for stuff.

I am 44 btw in perfect health except for I am hypothyroid and going through perimenopause. Both of those things are hard enough to deal with.

My real question is...is the mucus a big thing for lung cancer??? I have no cough. I just clear my throat of the mucus and swallow. I yawn alot. And my chest can feel tender at times.

I hope someone will please give me some hopeful but honest opinions. Thanks!
