Hi,
My mom has been getting followed from doctors at Fox Chase for roughly a year or two with CT's & PET's. Both PET scans have come back fine. CT's have come back with lung nodules. This past month, she has had an increase in small lung nodules. What does this mean? Her cancer indicators like bw have come back normal - she just had another PET scan that came back fine. She is heartbroken over this whole thing because now they want to do a needle biopsy. My mom is 67 years ago, smoker, has a lot of health problems...is VERY worried about the risk involved with a needle biopsy, and I'm just not sure its even worth her going thru esp. since the nodules are so small. 2 weeks ago a dr. there dx'ed her as having metastatic lung cancer - then that turned out to be false. . its been an emotional rollercoaster that we are going thru. I wish there was an easier way to dx her. What do I do? Or what should I tell my mom to do? I'd appreciate any input...PLEASE!!!!!!
