Mycoplasma pneumonia, now lung nodules and ongoing fever/night sweats
I am a 38 year old female in (usually) great health.
I had mycoplasma pneumonia in May which resolved within a week. However the high temperatures took 2 weeks to come down even though the x-ray and CT showed complete resolution.
Since then I have had recurrent fever of on average 38 degrees and soreness under my armpits.
I have had several blood tests none of which show anything sinister. Because my temps haven't resolved I was referred for a CT chest and abdomen. The abdo is fine, but the chest showed 1 x 4mm nodule in my left lung and a 5mm nodule in my right.
I saw my doctor today and he said he thinks the nodules are scar tissue from the pneumonia which made sense when he said it. However, why would I get nodules in two lung if the pneumonia was only in one lung?
He has said he will show the scans to some colleagues but I'm wondering if I should push for a referral? Thanks in advance :-)
