Risks of radon

I found out recently that the condo I have been renting for the past two years
has radon problems. I've done some tests and the numbers consistently come back with 10cpi/l. I've read somewhere that this is equivalent to the damage caused by smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. I'm out of my mind worried and had no idea I was in harm's way at all. I can't believe this isn't illegal. I'd love to find a doctor who could tell me how much danger I really am in here. Who knew? I'm in a highrise building!
