today i had my regular dentist appt. and he noticed an area of white on the roof of my mouth. He told me to go to the oral suregeon to get it checked out. Im 17 and I have been smoking cigars for about a year, maybe 3-4 a week, sometimes none, just the occasional, do you think this could be an oral cancer already?

im not sure. i've smoked for about a year now. and i have a huge lump in the side of my neck. keep us posted. i think we're too young, but i have no idea.

I'd listen to your dentist and get it checked out. Did you tell your dentist that you smoked and did you ask him if it could be from smoking?

It is very important, if you smoke, to tell your doctor that you do. If you lie, you could really hurt yourself. Also, if you're not mature enough to be able to tell your doctor that you smoke, then you're not mature enough to smoke.

The white mark could be from smoking. Although you are young, people are affected differently by tobacco smoke and so you might be more sensitive than others, causing you to experience its negative affects earlier in life.

It could be anything, just make sure you tell de Doc that you smoke!

Just just to make sure of course.. better safe than sorry! Just so you know, I have sometimes got random white spots inside my mouth. When I sleep sometimes my teeth rub against my mouth since I sleep on the side of my face.. and it makes a mark there. My dentist was concerned I was chewing on the insides of my cheeks! So it can be something as simple as this.. but just check to make sure! Good luck.
