one of the first signs of an oral cancer from what you described you did would most likely be some sort of a blister type thing(most likely white in color?) on the inside of the lower lip.but it is possible to get it in other places.but just having 'jaw pain' could be from many many possible reasons.cancer would not be the first thing on this list of possible reasons.if this pain continues or worsens,it would be something to see your doc about just to find out what is actually causing it.but honestly,cancer really would be a more last Dx type of thing .good luck,and let us know how you are doing.FB
