Hoping for a reply!

I have some white lesions, I guess you'd call them, on the left side of my tongue. They get pretty painful at times, but then the pain disappears for weeks at a time. The white appearance doesn't seem to go away though. I was referred to an oral surgeon, and set up an appt. with my dentist. Sucks waiting for them though. Just curious as to your opinions of what it might be?

Mostlikey this is Leukoplakia. These are white or discolored spots or patches due to long term irriation from things such as smoking or from toxins in the air. These may or may not be cancerous. Only an oral surgen can test for sure.
