Different colored patch on my tongue.!

There is this different colored patch on my tongue maybe a darker red. And it seems to have no taste buds on it it's just smooth. There might be a little white in it. It doesn't hurt or bleed it maybe a little sensitive. I'm really concerned and am freaking out. I do chew tobacco for about 2 and a half years. Ur have never had a problem what could this maybe be and what should I do about it? Someone help.

Set up an appointment with an ear nose and throat specialist. It sounds like leukoplakia to me, but they are obviously more qualified to make that assessment. Leukoplakia takes on more of a white color though. If they think its anything more serious, a biopsy might be in order. I know alot of people who chew get leukoplakia though. Just set up an appointment as soon as you can so that you can get some peace of mind. Try not to worry too much because the worry can cause more problems like mouth sores and such.
